Efficiently store and access your data with Cloudist S3 Storage - optimized for scalability, compatibility, long-term retention and high availability. The ultimate solution to meet all your storage needs in a sustainable fashion.
Discover how object storage helps your business grow - optimized for scalability, compatibility, long-term storage and availability.
Geographically replicated
Two datacenters more than 600km apart with the possibility of replication. The geographical protection increase availability even further.
Accessible
Flexible S3 service means applications can read and write directly to the service or via mount points, if supported by the application.
Compatible
Through the S3 API, you can automate and integrate with your applications on your terms and maintain full control via our portal.
Scalable
As an object storage platform, it is optimally suited for cloud storage in terms of scale.
Metadata
Provides a metadata search function for objects. A powerful feature that allows S3 object clients to search for objects in buckets based on metadata tags.

Cloudist S3 Storage supports next-generation web, mobile, and cloud applications, providing direct access to Cloudist S3 using the S3 API. A natural repository for your backup and storage solutions, that fully supports native S3 connectors such as Veeam, Commvault, Synology, Cohesity and Isilon among others. Also, typically 80% of files on primary storage are inactive. You can reclaim capacity on expensive block storage systems, and automate with policy-based file movement.
Development friendly
Broad support for developer languages and frameworks - provides simple, secure access using almost any language or framework.
Protected
The ability to set retention or versioning on the object - preventing unwanted editing or deletion of the object.
Fast
Centrally located with <15ms latency to all major cities in the Nordics.
Encrypted
Encryption of data at rest using 256-bit AES encryption - allows you to ensure the protection of your data.
Object Lock
If you run Veeam or other backup software, you can configure buckets for Object Lock with great advantage, which increases protection against ransomware by making the data immutable (non-changeable).
Extend your storage platform
Compatibility with a range of storage solutions - for example Dell EMC Cloudpools or CloudArray. Reclaim your valuable primary storage.
What is S3 object storage?
S3 object storage also know as S3 compatible storage is a shortening for Simple Storage Service and is developed by AWS. Instead of organizing files in a directories, object storage systems store files in containers often called as buckets and use unique IDs to retrieve them. It is simple and quick to set up and compatible with thousands of softwares and storage systems.
What is Object Lock?
With Object Lock, you can prevent objects from being deleted or overwritten for a certain time or indefinitely. You can use Object Lock to meet regulatory requirements that require WORM storage, or to simply add another layer of protection against object modification and deletion.
What type of storage is S3 used for?
Let us say that you have a backup of your workload and are runing out of diskspace, then you can utilize S3 storage for a way to move older infrequent data to a S3 bucket and free up space. The same principal goes for a NAS (file storage). Another case is that you want to archive files and object away from your expensive primary storage. Container services or applications is also a usecase for S3 Storage.
How does S3 storage work?
S3 compliant object storage means that the service talks to S3 via API, applications that support S3 API can use this service. The user gets a special storage pool (namespace) and within his namespace the user creates buckets which are a form of a directory. Each bucket has its own policy and is controlled by the bucket creator. When files are uploaded, associated permissions set on the bucket control who can and cannot access the files. For example. If a policy is set that user1 has read-only rights, all requests with this reference can only list and view objects located in that specific bucket. Another example is that we can set that only users with IP no x.x.x.x get access etc.
